How to find your BSB number

Your BSB is listed next to your account number in your banking app, internet banking and bank statements. That's the one to use: the BSB of your local branch isn't always the BSB of your account.

Four places to find it

  1. Banking app: open the account, then look for "Account details", "BSB & account number" or a share icon. Most apps let you copy both numbers in one tap.
  2. Internet banking: the BSB is shown next to the account number on the accounts page.
  3. Bank statement: printed near the top of every statement, paper or PDF.
  4. Ask the bank: call the number on the back of your card or visit a branch with ID.

Finding someone else's BSB

Ask the person or business for their BSB and account number, or ask whether they have a PayID. There's no way to look up someone's BSB from their name. If you've been given a BSB, you can check which bank and branch it belongs to with our BSB lookup.

BSBs for the biggest banks

Each bank has many BSBs, one per branch or office, so there isn't a single "Commonwealth Bank BSB". Browse a bank's full list:

Common questions

Is my BSB on my debit card?

Usually not. Most Australian debit cards show the card number, not the BSB and account number. Check your banking app or statement instead.

Can I use my branch’s BSB from the bank website?

Only if your account is actually held at that branch. Many banks now give online accounts a single central BSB, so the BSB of your nearest branch may be wrong for your account. Use the BSB shown on your own account details.

Do joint accounts have a different BSB?

No. The BSB belongs to the branch or institution, not the account holder. A joint account has one BSB and one account number like any other.
